    1. Description:
    2. It’s that time of year again. You’re preparing for finals, wrapping up courses, and making plans for the summer. But I have a question, do those plans include bringing everything you have in your dorm or apartment? Well I’m here to tell you that they don’t have to. Leave your items you do not need over the summer at storage. Don’t lug your furniture, winter clothes, and other dorm room essentials back home. It is much easier to leave them in a secure, nearby location and retrieve them upon return to school.

Well luckily, American Self Storage has many great size options just for you! Are you still not convinced? How about this, we are giving all students who store with us their first month for FREE!  That’s right, just swing by our office, put your belongings in your unit, and you’re all set. It really couldn’t be easier. So relieve some of the stress of moving out for the summer and give one of our storage professionals a call. Check out our website at www.americanselfstoragefwb.com and reserve your unit today!

May 24: RV Emergency Kit: What to Pack

    1. Start:
    2. 05/24/2017 at 7:00 am
    1. End:
    2. 06/24/2017 at 7:00 am
    1. Description:
    2. In an ideal world, every vehicle would have an emergency kit stowed in back. In reality, most drivers keep nothing more than a spare, a jack, and maybe some jumper cables. Either that or an AAA card.

RV owners can’t get away with that kind of blase attitude. RVs really cover the miles; something is sure to go wrong eventually when you’re on the road for days or weeks at a time.

It’s important to have not only emergency vehicle repair equipment on hand, but also important articles to help you survive in remote areas or in cold temperatures.

www.DMV.org offers a quality emergency kit checklist that will get RV owners started off in the right direction. The list includes everything from a folding shovel to toilet paper. Not to mention duct tape.

Start by collecting everything on that list, and then add the following RV-specific items and

items not included on the checklist:

      • Tire pressure gauge
      • Toilet chemicals (for toilet-equipped RVs)
      • Wood blocks and levelers to help level your RV
      • Rock salt to soften water
      • Power invert-er
      • Windscreen wash
      • Engine coolant

It’s also important to stay hydrated if you end up stranded; pack several gallon jugs of water. And don’t forget the first-aid kit. Include bandages, scissors, tape, gauze, antiseptic ointment, painkiller, bug spray, and sunscreen.

Is there anything else RV owners should include in their emergency kits? Have you had to use any or all of these supplies on the roadside?
